The Honourable George R. Strathy, Chief Justice of Ontario, the Honourable Heather J. Smith, Chief Justice of the Superior Court of Justice, the Honourable Lise Maisonneuve, Chief Justice of the Ontario Court of Justice, and the Law Society of Upper Canada are pleased to advise that the ceremony to mark the Opening of the Courts for Ontario will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015.
The Ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. in Courtroom 6-1 of the Toronto Court House at 361 University Avenue.

after an uncountable number of defeats at the hands of the courts and the "justice system participants", we'll proudly announce this victory:

#1. immediately below a brief excerpt from a Slaw.ca report re: 2014's annual "opening of the courts ceremony" held downtown TO one Sept. day each year...they've been doing it for over 60 years:
"The special interfaith ceremony, which has historically been held in the morning of the Opening of the Courts, was cancelled this year."
#2. over these past years of political work, perhaps one of the accomplishments i value the most was contributing to forcing the cancellation of the annual "opening of the courts ceremony" morning "Red Mass" at the beautiful downtown TO Church of the Holy Trinity for the year 2014. and John Ranger showed us that 2014 was also the first year that a non-invited member of the public was able to attend the afternoon ceremony at the University Ave. courthouse. (very ballsy of John to have ventured into that courthouse and ceremony on his own the way he did='nuff respect). numerous others have participated in the day's protest over the years including members from Canada Court Watch, Canadians for Family Law Reform and a group which no longer exists called "Unregistered FACS/CAS Workers"
#3. while the TO Star and perhaps some other mainstream media have covered the Annual Courts Ceremony (which is attended by hundreds of the most senior "justice system participants" of ON), our protest efforts have been covered by fixcas.com, the Brainsyntax website and a lawyer named Omar Ha-Redeye who writes for an online law magazine called Slaw.ca:

#5. and it looks like last year's cancellation of the morning "Red Mass" part of the Ceremony wasn't just a one year thing=they've appeared to cancel this year's Sept. 24, 2015 morning Red Mass as well.
