From the first time I walked into the brantford court house I knew I was out of my element. My children had been taken by CAS. And there was no time to go threw legal aid to get a lawyer as of yet. Duty counsel told me to sign the paperwork stating that I needed to apear to be working with cas not against them. Little did I know I had just signed a court document agreeing with cas lawyer that my children were infact in need of protective care and the request was for a term of 4 months. I didnt even know what I had done wrong to have the kids taken.. 6 years later and many many court apperances most of which I was not allowed to be heard. Legal aid denied me appeals where I knew id win... and here I sit Two of my children closed adoption against my will and two more crown ward no access ..I have since had another child whom lives with me full time and cas has no concerns about.
