Here is the follow up to the above previous post:

Well I went and did it. I sat for 4.5hrs across the table from my children’s mother. It was supposed to last 3 hrs but then we got into it. My Ex made a lot of outlandish accusations and statements. I was able to refute each and everyone of them because I document everything. We made a lot of agreements, however we did not settle. The thing we couldn’t settle on was the child support amount. Again I have 50/50 custody. My income dropped 20K this year due to loss of overtime. My support amount by law will be $508. I made her an offer for her to keep the whole child care benefit all year round(she has already done this for a year and half and would owe the government 9,800 in payback if I report her. She agreed to erase my arrears if I don’t report her... we will see) annually she would be collecting an extra $500 a year on top of what she would be collecting from me. (508x12= 6096 vs CCB (1100 x12)/2 =6,600) logically I figured hey that benefits both of us, I don’t lose out on my paycheques and she can keep receiving consistent payments.

Well unfortunately that’s not good enough. After she forced me into bankruptcy, foreclosure, my truck was reposted and is now garnishing my wages for 1,300 a month. She wants me to pay her an additional $400 on top of what I’m legally obligated to pay her. She is afraid that she won’t be able to keep her brand new truck, camper and boat if I don’t keep paying a ridiculous amount of money. How does one person think like that?

How do they not think about the kids?

I have them 1/2 of the time. How does one person think it’s in the best interest of the kids to drain one parent to the point where they have to choice between paying power bill or buying food.
