Father Rights Canada / don't confuse me with someone who is trying to weasel out of paying

I need help, and I don't know where to turn. As it stands, I have 3 beautiful children. The twins are 9, and my son is 11. They live with their mother in Airdrie, Alberta. I live in Edmonton and am in the military. People seem to think that people in the military make copious amount of money. We do not. I am blessed with the opportunity to be able to see my children every other weekend. The problem is this: I drive 2500kms every other weekend to see my children for only 3 days a month. I am paying 1500.00 in child support and Section 7. I understand that this is within the guidelines of the Child Support Table. However, taking into consideration the travel time, fuel costs, housing costs and bills, the amount left to pay for child support is an extremely heavy weight to carry. At the end of the pay period, before any bills are paid, I am left with only 300 dollars. This is for me to try and pay for food, utilities, an other expenses required to live.


I am aware that there is an application in which I could submit for undue hardship in order to reduce my monthly obligation. Please don't confuse me with someone who is trying to weasel out of paying. I'm truly not. I am struggling to survive, as well as be a great father to my children. They deserve the best absolutely, however my former spouse is not entitled to use THEIR monies to fund her travels to Mexico, Vegas, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, and other exotic destinations. I'm asking-nay-begging for help from someone, anyone who knows how I can lower my payments. As it stands, with all the tax credits and benefits, along with my payments, my former spouse earns in somewhere around 100k per year. I am left trying to make ends meet on less than 40k. Where is the justice in that?
