Truth of the matter is she will get what she wants, and he's basically got no power he'll have to fight in court and if you can't afford a lawyer will have to represent himself because if he makes over $17000 a year he'll get no help. Please support your son the best way you can because this situation is very hard on the mind and it gets worse and worse, make sure he calculates the chart amount for child support and starts paying it to her immediately. Even if he can't see his child, make sure he pays through the family responsibility office so it's on record. Otherwise, they will eventually garnish up to half of his wages and if they can't get his wages the suspended drivers license

   

Best thing I can give advice on is take her to court as soon as the child is born and make sure you have any and all proof that he is trying to be there for his child and make sure that things are done in a mature legal manner

   

If your in Alberta you have a big battle. Unless she puts him on birth certificate he will have to fight. There is a living together for a year rule. I spent 13 years fighting the same situation and don’t wish it on anyone. And very expensive. If any questions please ask..

   

Ok. Number 1. Play nice with BM until your sons name is on birth certificate. Hire a lawyer. Do not tell BM. After child is born then you have 2 options.
Start filing applications vs a brand new birth mother. (Not recommended as mom can claim breastfeeding etc.)
Second option.
Play nice with BM. Be involved as much as you can to show the courts you are a part of the baby's life. If you go to court without precedence vs a brand new birth mother you roll the dice in custody/visitation etc.

My advice. Play nice. Lie if he has to. Get his name on certificate go from there.

   

You need a lawyer she has to be served .. the court will order a paternity test to find out if the child is indeed your sons and when it is you are intitled to certain parental rights .. and not allowing you to see your child is not something your allowed to do

   

Unfortunately, the child will become a victim of the system of child abuse and hate against the father, for the purpose of extorting his hard earned pay.

   

The system is against fathers they’re sexist and bias for mothers. The best advice I have is, document everything only talk through text emails (unless both parties willing to have calls recorded, or at minimum advising her he is recording), try his best never to get angry (even though this may be hard at times) so no cursing and always be willing to be amicable.

   

this you have to go see a lawyer. do not hangout with her as you will most likely be charged because just from what you wrote she sounds vindictive. I would also call children aid services and tell them this as well and make a police report for documentation this will help you for sure. keep the messages 1 to 2 text a day try to make it email but save your text anything more she will try to have you charged with criminal herrassement

also in that letter of custody have a paternity test included and also something in writing that when she has to give birth that she has to let you know so you can head over to the hospital for support.

a custody agreement is only valid if it's made after separation

don't be brain lazy now and complain later that it didn't work out. Take action right away you want this delt with. if you have any doubt she might do something stupid like do drugs or throw herself down the stairs to have a miscarriage then advise your concerns about that to cas as well. protect yourself and your child in any way or form you see

and for God sakes don't try and be the Good guy that's what will burn you the most
