I gotta share something. The "new" agency being created by Band Council to replace Brant CAS is IN FACT - STILL THE CAS. No more talking about it being different - it is just a new CAS. This was explained to me today by O Gwadeni:deo's new head - Director, Tricia Longboat. Tricia is still an employee of a Children's Aid Society in Toronto (considered one of the worst ones in operation).

This explains why we butted heads so many times about CAS's violating rights and laws, and why it always seemed like she didn't understand that our community kicked the CAS off our territory for a reason.

When I politely shared that CAS (and this new agency) is not supported here, she said we have no choice. What do you think?

Vernon Beck you said if a former CAS worker was hired to head our new agency, we would be in trouble. How much worse is it now that we know a current CAS worker is the Director of the new 'native child welfare designation'
