Father Rights Canada / last time she left was from Alberta to Ontario

I have 2 kids with my ex wife. we've been on and off for about 10 years (shes notorious for taking the kids and running off then coming back at my expense). the second last time she left was from Alberta to Ontario. I left Alberta and everything behind to be a family. that lasted about 2 years then we separated again.

4 years went by with visitation and voluntary child support (more than what's required). I cut back to what was posted from the government guidelines after she was recklessly buying pot and tattoos and I needed to get car repairs etc.

she decided to keep the kids away until she needed more money. "I hope you learned your lesson" was how she started negotiating visitation again.

I agreed to pay more again because I wanted to see my kids. that lasted about 6 months.

her hometown is here in Ontario which is where we were both living. its not a good place to raise kids. we both agreed (I sacrificed) that the kids would have a better life back in Alberta.


I wrote a letter stating that I give permission for the kids to leave the province. that letter was not a legal document/ notorized etc. the agreement was that we would stay in contact when she thought it was fit (transitional, every 2 weeks then more). contact lasted for about 4 months and her calls came from an internet phone number, unable to receive calls as far as I knew.

she breached our unofficial agreement.


people have told me that this is possibly kidnapping (not to mention all the other times as well). this has been beyond life altering and mentally damaging to myself and I'm sure my kids have been greatly affected as well.

I am not mentally capable of pursuing charges if so as the fear of parental alienation may be too great and will damage my kids more.

but I have been stuck in Ontario with non stop issues financially to try to save up to go home to Alberta not to mention the lack of jobs right now.


I'm devastated and dont know what to do but wait till they're legal age if anything. my youngest is 14.


I also had a member of the courts here reccomend not to have contact and I told her the same story.
